Farewell to Cayman in photos.

Thank you to everyone who followed my Blog. It is a way for me to journal my trip and also share the experience with others. I love to do it.

This was my favourite meal during our trip to Cayman. Seared tuna steak with veggies and mashed plantain.....don't make that face until you try it.......Yummy!

Ocean at Governor's Beach were we snorkelled on our last day. Beautiful, vast, turquoise water. With a ton of fish!!! As well as other "critters?"

What the heck is that?

This is a fish that Donna spot on the coral on our last day snorkelling. It hide under the sand and started to move away from us when we got too close. I video taped this because we had no idea what the heck it is. Stingray....I don't think so. You can see it's eyes while it moves in the sand.

Last full day in Cayman

As you read this, we are climbing into our own beds back at home. We had an uneventful flight and beautiful landing....settling back into our routines in a day or so.

Debbie has remained in Cayman for an extra week as many of you know she is officially RETIRED!!!!

We really had a great 'last full day' in Cayman.

Shopping, of course to begin, in Georgetown. Having already packed our snorkel gear we headed straight from shopping to Governor's Beach. Beautiful sandy 7 mile beach.

We all went out in the pouring rain and had a wee bit of trouble finding
the fish at first. Leave it to Donna and Tammy to find an incredible 'aquarium' of fish near a huge coral reef. Seriously, as you can see by the pictures, they were literally in our faces. An incredible assortment of colours and different ones surrounded us. We spent a great deal of time there.

Karen, Deb and I went in.....we were tired because it was a long ways out, and Donna and Tammy stayed out longer.

They were rewarded by spotting a stingray not far from shore. Tammy got a lot of great pictures of it.

Some people we spoke with have never seen a sea turtle or stingray ever while snorkelling! We have been blessed to have seen both.

We ended our evening with a delicious dinner out at the place we started our vacation, The Nautilus. Right on the ocean.

Donna and I topped the night by each winning the dice game. Oh yeah!!!

Funny Signs or T-shirts Part 4

Ok....a local lady was looking at me kind of funny while I was taking this picture...but Karen and Deb found it and we thought it was hilarious.

Jelly Fish cream

Ok....so I made fun of this 'Jelly Fish cream' in a funny package earlier on in our vacation.....

Well...I have been stung again, nasty looking, by jelly fish and this is what the Pharmacist told me to use?

It is a dark green, thick jelly....hmmmmm....that you rub on the affected area and it is supposed to help. There is aloe, camphor oil, menthol, in it. Strong smelling...great!

I did that before bed and looked like I had been attacked by seaweed??? It was all over. Rinsing it off after you have rubbed it in is the next step....

This morning, my legs are still red and welted but not as 'angry' looking. Funny thing, we can't even see the jelly fish that sting us. On wavy days, they get pushed into shore. You feel little 'zaps' or stings that leave welts.

Now...before you get scared of jelly fish....I am here to tell you that they do not look like the green guy on the package.......hope that helps....

Adventures in Georgetown

Breezes in Georgetown is a great restaurant, right on the main road, and the view are sweeping of Georgetown. It was cool and we had a table outside, on the second floor. With a bird's eye view of everything.

Yummy nacho and a sample plate shared between three of us was still tons of food.
