What an incredible day. Tammy and I purchased these brand new snorkelling masks that actually can take underwater pictures!! I thought I died and went to heaven. After a wee bit of shopping we headed back home. Tammy, Donna and I went out around 2pm. Donna found schools of fish. Hundreds of them. Guess who's camera wasn't working?? Oh yeah....I got a few and something is definitely wrong with it....I am getting it checked out tomorrow.
BUT....Tammy took these great photos of a sea turtle and a spotted stingray!!!!
We followed the turtle for a long time. It was incredibly graceful and swam without any fear from us. We think it may be young. Only about 2 feet wide. It was amazing.
We realized that there was also a stingray on the floor of the ocean that was eating. The 'stinger' was about 6 feet long. Me, who nearly pulled a senior citizen off a boat ladder to get away from a stingray, stayed in the water and watched it for a long time. Actually until it disappeared.
It was dinner time out there and a ton of fish were eating around the coral.
A great snorkelling trip, and promising beginning with out new camera.
