Anyone who knows me, know that animals and creatures are not my strong suit.....give me babies and I am happy.
Guess who welcomed us when we headed to our beach at the Resort?? Oh yeah....a three foot long lizard! Luckily....always...I had my camera around my neck. He was a beauty. Taking his time to cross in front of the resort's sandy beach, too dangerously close to my "hammock" where I like to read, and then heading into the empty lot next door. Curiously, when we were heading back from grocery shopping (that's right across the street from us), there was another, BIG, lizard across the sidewalk....on OUR PATH HOME!!!!! Deb didn't even see him...I rescued her from terror by simply saying....."stop and look at what is on the sidewalk in front of you!"
These are protected animals. If one is crossing the street, everyone stops until it is safely across. They are all over. I do prefer to see them, because they are obvious, than the little lizards that I don't see until they are right under foot!! And I shriek!
The little crab also got his picture taken by me. He was trying to cross the rocks with some waves hampering his way. They are also plentiful and really fun to watch.
The other pictures are of the sea urchins that are located in the coral and rocks at our beach, and everywhere. They can be very small, a golf ball size, or a grapefruit size, on this beach.
Not dangerous as in they move or anything....but if you step on one, NOT good. Painful and supposedly you must 'pee' on your foot or someone else can!!! I am not making this *h#t up!
I think best to avoid as much as possible. Water shoes are a must. And don't forget your camera.....
